One of the six main abodes of the god Murugan. Lord in this shrine is seen with sitting on his vehicle peacock. This mountain is fully with covered with herbs and medicinal plants. And Top View from temple is awesome. We are see the city from temple.
You will get spiritual feeling and peace of mind. Lord murugan together seen with Valli, Devayanai in Athimoolasthanam where lingam is located. Also temple has a diety utchipullaiyar and panchavirsha tree which has lot of medical values.
The name Marudhamalai came from the the Hill mostly covered with Marudham tree so the name is came from that tree. And tree also symbolise like a spear. At the foot hill we are able to see thanthondri Vinayakar which is exactly located on pathinettam padi.
Here Lord shiva is named as Pattieshwarar and goddess is in the name of Maragathambigai. Lord vishnu statue also available in the temple and Navagraha also worshipped.
