Manampalli forest is located 17 kilometres away from Valparai. It takes about 34 minutes to travel from Valparai to that Forest guest house.
Manampalli forest is known for its thick dark green forest and the rich with flora and fauna. Forest geographically bordered with Top slip and Parambikulam. This place has human presence is very less. The people working in Sholayar Power station lives here with government provided accommodation facility. Only means of transportation is bus which comes only one time morning and evening. There is a guest house maintained by Tamil Nadu Forest department and not part of the power house project. Don't try to locate on Google you will get false information. Please check with the local people.

The only Accommodation is the Forest guest house is not something similar to a resort or any well-appointed place of stay. The guest house is located inside the middle of the forest with no electricity which is Solar powered. There is a cook-caretaker available for help in that guesthouse.

Inside Manampalli forest there is a trek shed inside the forest. This is a highly reserved forest. Forest department also claimed this as tiger reserve and some number of tigers are captured by cameras inside the forest. This is a official news from forest department.
